If you have heard about us in the newspaper, we need to clarify one thing. PERC was started in the Alpine School district, but it's patrons (users) are not limited to the Alpine School District. PERC is available for every and any adult (or teen--with adult signature). Our services are for every adult who has access to the Orem Library, where we are located. There is no library card needed and items are due back within a week.

If you are a frequent user of PERC, we acknowledge that you already know how the system works and we look forward to seeing you again and again!

We will also be featuring the Teen Summer Game Days, this summer. If you have teenagers, this will be something to look forward to.

If you have not been to PERC, come down to the Orem Library and see what we are about!

The journey to high self-esteem

The name of this game is "The Dinosaurs journey to High Self-Esteem." Take your child on a fun adventure! Teaching them and increasing their self-esteem without having to lift a finger (except to move the game pieces ;) ). This board game will help your child think about things that matter and will give you the opportunity to teach your child appropriate ways to interact with other children.
This game includes a colorful board and dinosaur game pieces which are visually stimulating!
The colored cards have different areas to building your child's self esteem!
Talk with your child about topics that may not come up very often in your day to day interactions. This game is useful as you are able to learn about where your child stands on values and how you can teach them, what you feel is right.

This is an amazing cooperative board game for parents and children. Children ages 5-12 can play and understand game cards easily. There can also be 2-6 players at a time.

Warp n' Woof

This game is called "Warp n' Woof," it is a 2-4 player cooperative game where you roll the die and travel along your color line to get to the other end. It seems easy right? Not Exactly.

With the roll of the die you will move along your colored line, until you come across a different color which you must jump. When you jump a color that is not your own, you send that color back to its starting point. The objective of
this game is to play cooperatively to get all the playing pieces to the end of their line.

You will cross another players piece and you will send them home-- What you do to avoid this is position your playing pieces to make a stack of 3 pieces, this will protect you and does not send you back to the starting point.

As you cross the paths of other players, you learn how to work along-side all players, so that you all reach your colored ends to win the game! This game creates the setting of working together and is suggested for adults and children 10 years and older.

Beginners Number Game

This game is called "1,2,3 go!" When children are able to recognize their numbers, this game can be stimulating and very fun.

Children will be able to count the circular cylinders then look at the number on the object making a connection. Children then place the playing pieces on the board.

It may be easy to use all the colors, so the child does not get confused. Then, at a later stage use the different colors for play. The numbers on the dice go up to either 3 or 6. For beginners, children can play happily with the numbers 1,2,3. To make it a little more challenging switch the dice to the 1-6 numbers. Have fun!
